Burnaby, BC - April 6, 2021
TWD is pleased to announce the continued growth of our family through the April 6th, 2021 acquisition of FWD Engineering Ltd. (FWD). FWD is a respected and trusted Mechanical and Electrical Engineering consulting firm , located in Burnaby, British Columbia. FWD is a leader in the design of mechanical and electrical systems for data centres, commercial buildings, educational, institutional, residential, and industrial building projects. With a focus on sustainability, cost, and performance, FWD offers great complementary services to TWD’s existing capabilities.
Over the past 20 years, TWD has become a leading mid-sized engineering firm in Canada. The addition of FWD Engineering allows both companies to combine our expertise and enhance our mutual client servicing ability – “Together We Deliver”.
From TWD Co-founder Milt Tsiapalis, “For TWD, the acquisition of FWD represents a significant step in our continued growth as a mid-sized Canadian EPCM company. For 20 years, TWD has primarily served the energy sector across Canada. But in the recent few years we have focused on diversification into the infrastructure space, and the addition of FWD will be a key strategic part of our growth in these areas. We also want to thank the owner Gerry Farrell for entrusting us to carry his work forward and thank him for supporting the transition.”
From FWD Co-founder Gerry Farrell, “I have been talking with the TWD guys for a couple of years now and we have even collaborated together on a few things. I feel that both of our companies share similar values and cultures and think that this will be a good thing for both FWD and TWD.”
TWD looks forward to continuing to grow FWD’s service offering through the current Burnaby office, but also expanding its services into the Ontario market and beyond.
